Admittedly, my theology was not very developed…I was a sophomore in high school and hadn’t been a Christian for long. Now, I try not to use unclear phrases like “accept Jesus into my heart.” It seems like “repent from your sin, and place your faith in Christ” is both clearer on how we are saved, and more Biblical (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 2:8-9).

And yet (!), I was reminded while listening to this just how important Scripture is! I only knew a few verses back then, but they profoundly affected how I thought about the world! Romans 10:17- “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ.”
